I'm grateful to be able to share my art with you.

My name is Anuk (Anu) Pesonen. I was born in 1981 and grew up in a small town, Savonlinna, in the East of Finland.

As a kid, I was very active in creative arts, music and acting. I sang in a choir and went to music school to learn violin and music theory. Since childhood, I have loved doing things with my hands; experimenting with color; sewing, weaving, drawing and painting. 

At High School I had an exchange student year in Germany in 1999-2000. After that I studied languages & linguistics and I graduated as a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu. I lived for more than two years in Germany and I worked several years as a freelance translator.

I am very experimental by nature and I like to learn new things and in 2007 I challenged myself and did it again: new country, new culture and new language. I moved to the Costa del Sol, Spain, where I found my creative and spiritual side. I studied to be a Sports Massage Therapist and enjoy working with and healing people. I also discovered my passion for making Marionette Dolls, playing the flute and bought a piano/keyboard to fulfill one of my childhood dreams. As the years have passed I stepped further into the world of audiovisual projects, utilising my creative, artistic and musical skills and I would love to expand on this in the future.

After my dad died in 2018, I leaned even more on my creative side, to mend a broken heart, and I've been practicing music again ever since; looking for light out of the shadows. Making songs is a nice way to unravel yourself and draw strength to this everyday life.

2020 was the start of UniQueByAnuk on Facebook and Instagram. For me it’s a new chapter in this creative venture! Here on my website you can find a small BOUTIQUE, where you can order my unique handcrafts by E-m@il. I’m very passionate about designing bags, bracelets and jewelry or making new ideas for decoration and custom gifts. As a self-taught artist I like experimenting with a variety of materials and finding out what I can do with them; discovering the little surprises, which makes the creating work so addictive.  When not creating, I like to do yoga, which is the perfect way to balance my life, my emotions, to deal with difficulties and find my inner peace. I am a nature lover! I like to go to the beach, mountains, forest and lakes. Seeking the magic and silence in our beautiful natural world!
